The Multitouch Aquaria Project

Status Update

Monday 2011-04-25

I’ve been working on adding GEIS input to Aquaria. In so doing I’ve had the misfortune of discovering a bug in the GEIS 2.0 bindings in Natty. It seems that gesture filtering—which I need to filter out gestures from the S10-3t’s touchpad—is broken. A minimal example of the bug can be found on Github. Of those I have tried, only filering by X11 window ID works. I reported this issue in #ubuntu-touch, and am told that a fix may be forthcoming as soon as next week (which would be pretty decent turnaround, given that the Natty release is this week).

Fortunately, this issue shouldn’t affect my ability to give a good demo next week. It will, however, delay getting my changes into the official repository.

Side note: My patch for the touchscreen bug has been accepted and is now in the official repo.
